2022-2023 Host club - Sanction event policy
For the past 3 years the Tour transferred the $75.00 Tour Administration Fees to each host Club and additionally provided each Host Club with a $2,000 Covid Grant to offset the reduced sponsorship available to the clubs. This year the Tour will be phasing out the Covid grant and reducing the grant to $1,000 for each host committee.
Additionally the Tour is increasing the entry fee for Competitive and Challenge teams by $50.00.. the first increase in a decade. The $50.00 entry increase will be collected by the Host Club and transferred to the Tour after the event. Peace Curling Tour promotes and markets the Tour, promotes, and coordinates team registrations and secures significant sponsorships that enabled us to host a well-funded Peace Curling Championship.
Clubs hosting sanctioned qualifying event are expected to provide a meal, ice rentals and ancillary costs. The clubs use the Tour Events as an opportunity to secure sponsorships and support for their event and in many instances significant revenues can be generated over and above their expenses to the general financial benefit of the club. Additionally, each host club will be responsible for preparing the draws, registering teams for the Tour, and collecting entry fees.
In terms of the various draws used by Host Committees for determining points earned towards obtaining a berth for the Tour Championship the basic principle that teams cannot be denied points or eliminated from the event by a team with a lesser win loss records at the event.
The Tour Rules Committee composed of Tracy Steinke, Scott Webb and Glen Godberson
shall represent the Tour interests and has final authority over the awarding of points at any tour event.
